Your Guide to Fourth of July in the
Santa Clarita Valley 2026
The Fourth of July in Santa Clarita is one of those special days that reminds me exactly why I love living here.
From the hometown parade in Old Town Newhall to fireworks lighting up the sky over Valencia, the Santa Clarita Valley knows how to celebrate. Whether you are planning an early morning run, finding the perfect parade spot, or gathering the family for fireworks, here is your guide to enjoying Independence Day in the SCV.
Start the Morning in Old Town Newhall
Start the day with the Rotary Club of Santa Clarita Valley’s annual Pancake Breakfast near the parade route. It is a longtime local tradition and a great place to enjoy breakfast before the festivities begin. Pancakes will be served starting at 7:00am.
For families who like to start the holiday with a little exercise, the Independence Day Classic returns to Newhall Park with a 5K, one-mile Masters Walk, and Kids K. Advance registration is strongly encouraged, especially since the race may sell out.
Visit scrunners.org for registration information, start times, and race details.
The Parade... A True SCV Tradition
The Santa Clarita Valley Fourth of July Parade begins at 9:00 a.m. in Old Town Newhall, and it is always one of my favorite community traditions.
The parade begins at the Newhall roundabout near William S. Hart Park, travels north along Main Street, turns west onto Lyons Avenue, continues north on Orchard Village Road, and concludes near Avenida Dalbey.
Be sure to arrive early, bring your chairs, wear your red, white, and blue, and settle in for a wonderful morning celebrating with neighbors, friends, and family.

Where to Watch the Fireworks
After a full day of festivities, there are a couple of great ways to enjoy professional fireworks in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Valencia Town Center
The City of Santa Clarita’s annual fireworks show is scheduled to begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. over Valencia Town Center.
This is one of the SCV’s most popular Fourth of July traditions, so plan to arrive early and expect nearby parking areas and viewing locations to fill quickly.
Six Flags Magic Mountain
Six Flags Magic Mountain will celebrate with Star-Spangled Nights from July 3 through July 5.
Guests can enjoy a full day in the park followed by patriotic music and a nighttime fireworks celebration. Admission to the park is required, and event details are subject to the park’s schedule.
Park Viewing
You can also enjoy the fireworks from several local parks: Richard Rioux Park open at 6:00pm and offering entertainment and food trucks, Skyline Ranch Park, and the Summit Park.
Plan to arrive early to find parking and bring your blankets, chairs, and snacks!
A Quick Safety Reminder
All personal fireworks are illegal in the City of Santa Clarita, including those labeled “Safe and Sane.” This includes sparklers, snaps, smoke balls, and other consumer fireworks.
Fireworks are also prohibited throughout unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County without a permit. Please leave the fireworks to the professionals and enjoy one of the community’s public displays safely.
